Kvitta in Business Central
The Kvitta app connects Business Central to Kvitta. Kvitta reads your open customer entries through it and writes each reconciled journal into a batch you choose, with the applies-to fields filled in.
What the app does
It writes a reconciled journal into an allowed batch in one transaction: every line is created, or none is. Each payment line carries the invoice or credit memo it settles, so posting closes the right entries.
It also reads the open customer entries Kvitta matches against, applies already posted entries to each other on request, and records every journal it wrote or refused in the Kvitta Write Log.
Requirements
Business Central online, version 24 or later, and a Kvitta account on a connected plan. The app is in English and Swedish.
Permissions
Two permission sets come with the app. Kvitta Admin is for the person who sets it up and can change the setup. Kvitta User is for the people who send journals from Kvitta and reads the setup without changing it.
Kvitta connects with the signed-in person's own Microsoft account, so it can do in Business Central what that person can do, within the batches you allow. No credentials are stored in Business Central.
Set it up
Search for Kvitta Setup.
Allowed batches. Kvitta writes only into the general journal batches listed here. Give Kvitta batches of its own, separate from the ones people work in by hand. Allow posting is set per batch: turn it on where routine settlements may post straight away, and leave it off where someone should read the lines first.
Restrict to allowed batches is on by default. Leave it on.
Custom fields. If your company keeps a payment reference on a field of its own, map it here, so Kvitta can read it on the ledger entry or write it on the journal line. Choose where the value lives, then pick the field by name.
Write log
The Kvitta Write Log shows every journal Kvitta wrote and every one it was refused, with the settlement file it came from, the batch, who sent it, and each reason for a refusal. The setup page sets how many days it is kept.
A refused journal
When Business Central refuses any line, nothing is written, and Kvitta shows every reason at once. The usual causes are a batch that is not allowed, an invoice that was settled after the file was matched, or a batch with no number series and no document number on the line. Fix the cause and send the journal again.
Removing it
Uninstall the app from Extension Management. Journals already posted stay as they are. Kvitta can no longer write to Business Central until it is installed again.
